Laurel is the director of Writing and storytelling at the medical humanities and the arts program at the stanford school of medicine. her students have published hundreds of pieces everywhere from McSweeney’s and the Journal of the American Medical Association to bestselling books (yay Grace Li!) to public radio (go Brian Smith & Arifeen Rahman! ).
